The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter fills a much needed gap in emergency housing for victims of domestic violence and homelessness. Since its opening in February 2015 it has been at capacity.
Where does your dollar go?
The shelter is dependent on donations. Every dollar received benefits the shelter directly. Our board and supporting committees consist of dedicated, unpaid volunteers. We aim to keep running cost to the absolute minimum, but keeping the shelter open is a costly affair though. Without boring you with the details, it costs $69 per day to house and feed one woman.
A regular donation makes a huge difference!
Think of it as buying a woman a cup of coffee once a week. We call this the Coffee Crew because this is what we need to keep going: regular drips of coffee kick-start our fundraising and provide much needed regular income to pay for the ongoing expenses.
We've created an easy menu for you with the most popular options of fully tax-deductible donations.
